iCrack

I recently buried my Blackberry Torch in the desert and replaced it with the iPhone 4. And now I can't stop Pic Stitching and Instagramming my life away. It's not even that interesting and I feel kinda bad for the people that follow me. Because in a nutshell, my Instagrams are mostly of cats...
...and food.
Today I went on a D.I. Crawl and took it easy on the vinyl haul.
A whopping $4 on these gems.
Can't wait for vacation time. I'm gonna come home broke, but with a trunk full-a records. They'll keep me warm at night when I have to live on the streets. I ♥ vinyl!

Caring Is Creepy

Hello, my 2.5 readers! What have you been up to lately?

I helped move from the edge of the mountain to civilization. I saw a blue version of a car from my childhood; the Dodge Omni! We had a gray one. My dad slammed my arm in the hatchback one Saturday morning at the Vallejo Farmer's Market. Memories.

PYT's bathroom is the size of a closet, so I suggested a D.I.Y. vanity made up of a floating shelf and a mirror. She kept resisting, but I (usually) get my way. Plus, I've drooled atseen many Apartment Therapy "Small Cool" contest entries. I know things. I'm not as dumb as I look.

Easter/Passover came and went and I scored an easy $60 during an Easter Egg Hunt. I would have made more, but I'm nice and I gave a couple of my eggs to people who don't have a clue. This surely makes up for all the sh*tty Easters as a child only finding plastic eggs with nasty jellybeans.

Two of my favorite places are Bass Pro Shops and the Fantastik Indoor Swap Meet. If I ever make it to the new Hobby Lobby, that may be my third favorite place.

J&T hooked it up big time with an extra, sextra pair of tickets to the sold-out Shins show at the Cosmo. Their buddy had bracelets for backstage, too! And I didn't have to give anyone a blowie!

I'm not terribly familiar with The Shins, but I recognized a song or three. It reminded me of working at UO and hearing the Garden State soundtrack every time I emerged from the hellish stock room.

And now I can't stop listening to the entire Shins catalog. I can't help, but think about how different my life would be had I not moved to Chicago. I would probably still be broke, but with a degree. Oh well. I'm still broke, working on a degree, but ahelluvalot happier than I've ever been.

My parents got a new car, so we're breaking it in by going everywhere. Today we went to Lake Las Vegas; home of Brandon Flowers, Celine Dion, and broke-ass Toni Braxton. Well, maybe not Toni anymore. Un-break my bankruptcy.

We took pictures like tourists, got a little sun on our faces.

Did a little window shopping in the two remaining boutiques. I helped the economy by purchasing tchotchkes.

Tiny food and matches I'll never use.

I keep getting e-mails for "Latinos For Obama." Sí, se puede! Otra vez! Adíos, Señor (pinche) Romney!

Active "Child"

I hope these guys know Rolling Stones covers. I'm hiring them for the commitment ceremony.

I choked on my spit this morning and haven't stopped coughing. I'm such a boob, sometimes.

Normally I keep water by my bed just in case of an alien invasion. I learned from the film "Signs" that they do not like water.

Got this gem at Target for $9.99. I don't have a television in my room, so I watched Who Is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin' About Him?) on Netflix. Wow, that dude was a hot mess!

My room is a hot mess.

That Don't Impress-A-Me Much

The first roll I shot with La Sardina, A.K.A. Lena Del Rieke, was ruined (because I did not lock the lens into place). Who knows what that roll would have looked like anyway because I am a crappy Lomographer.

Here are some birthday shots from Pink Eye:

I hope there's Lomography 101 at CSN.

Dusted out the ol' Vivitar Mini, A.K.A. Lil' Viv. She's fun and unpredictable.

She also drains the battery fast. And I have to upload pictures before the battery dies, or else they disappear. Or maybe I don't know what I'm doing. That's most likely the case.

Thriftster Grifter

Today, I went to Deseret Industries and came home with too many records. I need to invest in one of those mobile record players to tote around when I go thrifting. Not that I usually regret the records I buy, but I bet I wouldn't leave the thrift shop with as many records. Because 50 cents a pop is too rich for my blood.

As much as I love record stores (especially Amoeba and Rasputin's - I can easily lose half a day and half my bank account there), I find the gnarliest, weirdest records at places like Goodwill and DI.

And sometimes I make out like a bandit.

Instant wall art.

Getting ready for Europe 2012. Or Europe 2022. Let's be real. I work at the Gap.

Who would buy an 8 track player in 2012? This guy.$3!

Another DIY project waiting for me in the garage. $3! I figure it will make for a cool spice rack, or something one day. Always thinking ahead.
