Caring Is Creepy

Hello, my 2.5 readers! What have you been up to lately?


I helped move from the edge of the mountain to civilization. I saw a blue version of a car from my childhood; the Dodge Omni! We had a gray one. My dad slammed my arm in the hatchback one Saturday morning at the Vallejo Farmer's Market. Memories.


PYT's bathroom is the size of a closet, so I suggested a D.I.Y. vanity made up of a floating shelf and a mirror. She kept resisting, but I (usually) get my way. Plus, I've drooled atseen many Apartment Therapy "Small Cool" contest entries. I know things. I'm not as dumb as I look.


Easter/Passover came and went and I scored an easy $60 during an Easter Egg Hunt. I would have made more, but I'm nice and I gave a couple of my eggs to people who don't have a clue. This surely makes up for all the sh*tty Easters as a child only finding plastic eggs with nasty jellybeans.


Two of my favorite places are Bass Pro Shops and the Fantastik Indoor Swap Meet. If I ever make it to the new Hobby Lobby, that may be my third favorite place.


J&T hooked it up big time with an extra, sextra pair of tickets to the sold-out Shins show at the Cosmo. Their buddy had bracelets for backstage, too! And I didn't have to give anyone a blowie!


I'm not terribly familiar with The Shins, but I recognized a song or three. It reminded me of working at UO and hearing the Garden State soundtrack every time I emerged from the hellish stock room.


And now I can't stop listening to the entire Shins catalog. I can't help, but think about how different my life would be had I not moved to Chicago. I would probably still be broke, but with a degree. Oh well. I'm still broke, working on a degree, but ahelluvalot happier than I've ever been.


My parents got a new car, so we're breaking it in by going everywhere. Today we went to Lake Las Vegas; home of Brandon Flowers, Celine Dion, and broke-ass Toni Braxton. Well, maybe not Toni anymore. Un-break my bankruptcy.


We took pictures like tourists, got a little sun on our faces.


Did a little window shopping in the two remaining boutiques. I helped the economy by purchasing tchotchkes.


Tiny food and matches I'll never use.


I keep getting e-mails for "Latinos For Obama." Sí, se puede! Otra vez! Adíos, Señor (pinche) Romney!
